is a group that takes a non-conventional approach to the engineering space by facilitating workshops in which participants collaborate to hack hardware, software, and e-waste for the purpose of creating instruments, combating planned obsolescence, and building community.


Using a dirt-cheap, crappy, pre-built LM386 audio amplifier chip, you can make a weird, crunchy, "playable" distortion amp. By touching the exposed amplifier circuit with two fingers you add resistance with your skin, overdriving the circuit and output signal causing the chip to self-oscillate which gives the sound a distinctly distorted quality.
